Registry fun...

Everyone says that coming up with a baby registry is one of the best parts of having a kid... It's really funny, but I'd say that it's definitely the most difficult part so far!

I have a really hard time figuring out what the PERFECT stuff is... There is SO much out there; so many different brands of the same things. Amazon is really fantastic because with every item, there are a ton of parents who write reviews -- and these parents are really serious about their baby swag! Along with review sites like babygizmo.com, you can pretty much find opinions about every item you could ever wonder about... from strollers to thermometers to bottles. It's crazy!

The tough bit, then, is comparing what I learn from other parents about what they like and don't like with what I know to be true about my own lifestyle, along with what I've seen first hand with Jess and Jhonen!

If you want to watch my agony, you can come along for the ride at my registry page. Besides clicking on that link you can also search for me or Colin.

To add a little more confusion: Amazon's baby registry doesn't include the awesome Universal Wish List like their normal wish lists do. (If you don't know about this feature, it's basically something that lets you put things you want from anywhere on the internet into your Amazon list. It's AWESOME. And it currently doesn't work for their baby registry system.) So, I also created a wish list for Baby Campbell that includes items from all across the internet (stuff you can't actually buy FROM Amazon); at this point it's mostly items from Ikea. :)

I decided to keep the clothing/toys registry at a minimum because I know how fun it is to walk into a store and let those things jump out at you -- and I didn't want to deny anyone that fun!! I'd prefer to keep these things as natural as possible... but other than that, I'll love knowing that whoever gave her the gift really really loved it.

  2. To be clear, there are 2 wish lists:

    * This one is the Universal Wish List thing.
    * This one is the regular Amazon Wish List.
